The Abstraction of Circle

This circle was carved from a solid block created by infusing a dictionary with resin and allowing it to harden.

A dictionary is a stratified body of language-layers of words, fragments of thought.

Each word is a symbol of a concept; through the weaving of these symbols, the world comes into being.

By sculpting the shape of a cyclical world from these layered concepts, this work becomes an experiment in making visible the shore where the realms of information and matter meet.
