Strata forming bands in the earth. Through cycles of sedimentation and accumulation, mud becomes stone. Within rock, time is frozen far beyond the scale of human perception. The periodic layering found in nature irresistibly invites us on a journey through time.

I sought to visualize the amorphous sediments swirling within myself by shaping them into layered structures using tantalum and aluminum.
